Dr. Guiley’s practice is mainly with those 18 years of age and older who are in therapy either at LifePointe or who have been referred to him from outside agencies via a written referral.  In certain circumstances, he may see clients under the age of 18.

Background and Experience

Dr. Guiley worked in family practice in Farmington, Missouri for 15 years before returning to St. Louis University to complete his psychiatric residency. Dr. Guiley worked as a staff psychiatrist in Cape Girardeau from 1994 to 1998 at Community Counseling Center. He maintained a practice with Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington from 1998 -2008 and also served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Guiley has worked with LifePointe, or a “version” of it since 1994 when Lanny McFarland asked him to join Minirth-Meier Clinic of St. Louis. Dr. Guiley is board certified, and he is experienced in both individual and group psychotherapy. He brings a unique integration of faith and medicine in his approach to treating various mental health issues.

Special Interests and Services

While Dr. Guiley works with a multitude of mental health issues, his special areas of interest include psychotherapy with a Christian spiritual emphasis, attention deficit disorder, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, gender/sexual identity issues, and alternative/complementary/functional medicine with the use of nutritional and nutraceutical therapies. He is a member of both the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Neurology and Psychiatry. He is also a Founding Member of St. Louis Institute of Integrative Medicine.
